rape oil - with the power of nature

Mineral oils have been utilised as the basis for most industrial lubricants for decades but they are not very biodegradable. It is estimated that a considerable quantity of these lubricants may find their way into the environment through loss or leakage. National and EU regulations pertaining to the use of lubricating products in sensitive application areas increasingly stipulate very good biodegradability and environmentally friendly properties.

Oxidised native oils, also known as ‘blown oils’ are used today in various industrial areas and applications. They meet many regulatory requirements including, complete biodegradability, excellent lubricating properties and outstanding stability in the formulated products.

Rape oil is a natively available, readily renewable base oil, which when blown to specifically defined viscosities is particularly suitable for use in the manufacture of a wide range of biodegradable, environmentally friendly lubricating products. As a consequence rape oil plays a leading role in the area of hightech lubricants.

At present some 40,000 tonnes per year of bio-based lubricants are manufactured and utilised in Germany alone, with an ever increasing annual trend. At TRUMPLER we believe that this is the correct path to follow and lends our support to a more effective protection of the environment and its resources, along with a marked reduction of emissions.
